# How to transfer Voice In license to a different account?

If you need to transfer your Dictanote or Voice In license to a different email address, you can do so by updating the email associated with your account. Here's how.

### Steps to Update Your Email

1. [Log in to your account ](http://dictanote.co/accounts/login/)and go to the [**Account Settings** page](https://dictanote.co/accounts/me/).
2. Click on **Edit** next to your email address.
3. Enter your new email address and save.

You can have both your old and new email addresses point to the same account.

### If Your New Email Is Already Associated with Another Account

Each email can only be associated with one account. If the new email you want to use is already linked to a different account, you'll need to free it up first:

1. [**Log in** with the account](http://dictanote.co/accounts/login/) that has the new email.
2. Go to [**Account Settings**](https://dictanote.co/accounts/me/) > **Delete Account**. This will free up that email address.
3. **Log back in** with your original account (the one with the license).
4. Go to [**Account Settings**](https://dictanote.co/accounts/me/) and click **Edit** next to your email address.
5. Enter the now-available email address and save.

Your license will now be accessible under the new email.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.dictanote.co/help/account/how-to-transfer-voice-in-license-to-a-different-account.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
