# How to disable built-in voice commands?

Voice In comes with built-in voice commands in 25+ languages for common tasks, such as punctuation and inserting a new line.

To disable built-in voice commands, use one of these two options.

## Option 1: Disable all built-in commands

To disable all built-in voice commands:

1. Open the [Voice In Options page](https://dictanote.co/voicein/options/).
2. Scroll to the **Voice Commands** section and select the "Disable built-in voice commands" checkbox.

## Option 2: Disable individual voice commands

Use `<unset>` to disable an individual built-in voice command. The phrase will then be inserted as ordinary text. Do not use `<delete>`, which deletes text instead.

For example, the built-in voice command `question mark => ?` inserts `?` when you say `question mark`. To disable it, add the custom voice command `question mark => <unset>`. This removes the built-in voice command.
