Ordinary dictation, AI Transforms, and AudioScribe do not all process data in the same way. ## Ordinary dictation Voice In captures your voice while dictation is active. It uses the browser's speech-to-text service and inserts the resulting text into the selected field. Voice In does not send this audio or transcript to its own servers for transcription or keep a server-side history of ordinary dictation. The browser's speech service may process audio remotely; using a browser API does not mean all processing happens on your device. The website where you insert text also handles that text under its own policies. ## AI Transforms When you select text and run an AI Transform, Voice In sends the selected text and transformation instructions to its service for processing by an AI model. The rewritten text is returned to the page. Ordinary dictation does not automatically submit text to AI Transforms. ## AudioScribe AudioScribe processes recordings and stores transcripts and rewritten notes. See [AudioScribe's privacy information](https://dictanote.co/audioscribe/privacy/) for details about processing, storage, deletion, and export controls. ## Accounts, settings, and usage data Voice In uses account details, subscription records, settings, and saved voice commands to provide account and product features. Voice In also collects usage information, including the domains where dictation is used and whether it works, to improve compatibility and diagnose problems. ## Payments Stripe and PayPal process payments. Voice In stores subscription and transaction information, but does not store full credit card numbers on its servers.
